It's already P-day! I feel like time is going pretty quick on my end, even though everyone back home is telling me otherwise. Pretty much for me time is Flying. 58 days until I see you all at the airport!
Once again it's been a pretty crazy week with the weather! There was a bunch of floods again and so on Saturday the church set up a giant cleanup effort up in Covington, LA. But, we weren't allowed to go for some reason!
This week was a week filled with service though. I think the most memorable one was in kenner there was this giant robotics convention with all these high schools competing. I felt so out of place. We helped out a little bit there, and there were definitely some funny moments! As we were walking out there was like this 7 ft robot that drove past me with no one controlling it and it was singing "Science is Fuuuunnnnn" So I got out of there real quick. Haha it was hilaroious.
Well later that night a member took us to the Pelicans game. It was all fun and games until mid game he decides he wants a Steak Sandwich. Well after about 10-15 minutes I text him to see if all is good. Next thing you know my phone is blowing up with texts. He says "I'm in the bathroom choking. I'm going to die" Stuff like that. Well he is a jokester so I was kinda just ignoring him. Well next thing you know I get another text. About 20 minutes goes by and I felt we had to go look because something might actually be wrong. Well we go down and he is outside the bathroom and tears are streaming down his face. I felt so bad I thought he was joking. Well he starts screaming out like "EMERGENCY EMERGENCY, we gotta go to the EMERGENCY" So we get in his car and start driving. He is throwing up like crazy, probably 10-15 times and going nuts. Well he gets us to pray and then keeps going. He drives to CVS gives me a $100 bill and says "Go buy me some olive oil" I go get it with my comp and next thing you know hestarts chugging some olive oil. We get in the car and he is shouting out "Jesus, work in me, I need you" Then we start driving and almost instantly he is like "I feel it moving, It is dislodged!!"
It was a crazy experience. Definitely something I won't forget. And for sure we were all laughing about it after!
Well the next day is our ward easter party. It was combined english/spanish but it was honestly pretty sad how many hispanics came. 2 out of a 80 person turnup. I was a little annoyed about that because they were talking about it so much. Alot of people lack commitment down here. It's pretty sad to see. Well we helped clean up and then a member invited us over for some service. We ended up painting a bunch inside his house and it ended up looking pretty good!
Sunday was a great day! I had to teach spanish Elders Quorum, so that was fun! I miss translating everything because that definitely helped my spanish get so good!
Ok so here is the finally.
Last night, something hilarious happened. As elders we always play little pranks on each other. You know, the classic throw a firecracker in the shower. Nair in the shampoo. Goodtimes. Well one of the elders locks all the doors in the house and so i was stuck in the living room. I waited for a little while and then I was just done waiting. I started knocking and still no answer. There was no way to unpick the lock so I kept banging the door. I pushed it a little and no budge.
Well I have always wanted to kick open a door and this was a perfect opportunity. I kick a little and nothing happens. Well I try again and POW there goes the door. Don't worry, everything has been repaired. Hahah it was definitely a good laughing moment!
We met a bunch of Less-Actives thies week which was awesome and Tyrell Should be back this week!
Love you All!
