Yo What's up fam!
First of all, just wanna tell you how much I love you guys!
This week was pretty sweet. Elder Rasband came to our mission and we had the chance to listen to him speak. On top of that, it was Elder Zwick of the 70 and also Elder Bluth the Area 70. So we got packed with good stuff on saturday. It really was a blessing to be there.
We all went up and got to shake their hands and it was really cool. Elder Zwick just started speaking to me in spanish which was also pretty sweet.
Well they started teaching us and really all they spoke of was Jesus Christ. They talked about the importance of a name and the name of Jesus Christ and why it was so significant. Elder Rasband shared a sweet story about the importance of names and how big of a role they play in every life. It was awesome. They ended off the meeting with this quote.
Elder Rasband " I want to testify to each and every one of you, this small fact, that the voice of the Lord is no stranger to the apostles and prophets and leaders of this, His Church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints."
It was super powerful and I started tearing up no joke. I loved it!
You could definitely feel they love they had for us and for Jesus Christ.
After shaking our hands they said, "Yesterday we shook President Monson's hand, Today you shake ours, that, is how close you are to a Prophet on the earth."
It was sick!
I know the church is so true and that these people are inspired men of God that lead and guide us. I'm grateful for that chance I had to hear from them on Saturday.
Ok to the other stuff. Well, along with one of the most spiritual moments of the week, started of one of the most opposites.. Hahah Mardi Gras began this week. Needless to say it was pretty awesome but crazy at the same time.
On friday we went to a parade with a member and it was an all guys parade so nothing crazy at all. Only a little violent. Well usually with the parades, when they throw beads its nice little soft throws. Well, they begin to roll up on us and NOPE. All that disappeared. Elder Shaddick just started getting nailed with beads. BOOM BOOM BOOM to the face and chest. I was dying. They start trying to hit me and i am catching bags while fending off other ones. I could've sworn I was playing Fruit Ninja with beads! It was awesome! :)
Well the next day, the town was destroyed. Trash, Beads, Cans EVERYWHERE. The road it was on was just covered in trash. I could've sworn we were in Wall-E. Trash Piles for days!
While tracting this week we had an awesome awesome lesson. We knock on the door and this guy seems supe rpumped to see us and then we start talking. Well 45 minutes later we are still standing on his door talking about some cool things. He told us straight up that the world was so corrupt because everyone thinks they have authority and are trying to recreate their own truths. BOOOM. Thank You! So we talked and it was super solid. He quoted "Other Sheep I have that are not of this fold". BOOM again. We talked about the Book of Mormon and it was really really sick!!
Love you guys and hope you have a great week!
