Hey Family and Friends,
This week was a crazy one as we had transfers.
Elder Tuttle was also sick and so we ended up being inside for a few days, I am now starting to pick up a little bit of it.
Well when he recovered things went really good, we went and saw some people and it was awesome.
I just want to talk mainly about one lessons we had.
Ok so Thursday night we got a call from a lady in the ward. She told us that she had a referral for us. Well we call the man. His name is Jose.
He answers instantly and says he has been waiting for us.I will get to that in a second. Well as soon as we hang up he texts us saying and asking when we can come by. We set up an appointment for saturday morning at 9. We call him before and he answers instantly. Says he is waiting for us. Ok so we show up at his house, we knock on the door and he lets us in. He is from Puerto Rico. Well his living room is almost empty, and there are just two chairs sitting there. He tells us the sit down. We start talking trying to get to know him and he gets straight to the point and asks what our message is for him. We could already tell this man meant business. We whip out a restoration pamphlet and start speaking. My spanish was doing quite well. I ask him a question and before I finish even asking he stops me mid sentence he gives me the perfect. The picture of Christ holding the sheep on the front is awesome. I ask "How would you feel if you were literally the sheep in His arms" That was the question. He stopped me mid question and says that we already are the sheep. He quotes a scripture from the bible. I was just like LAHHHHHHH music ringing to my ears at that point. I turn the page and he instantly starts talking about the importance of families. I'm just sitting there with my mouth wide open. We talk for a little about it and we move on to Prophets, instantly starts quoting scripture again. At this point I was kind of tripping. We keep going and get to the Joseph Smith story. He starts talking and saying how much he loves this story. His name is Jose, Joseph in spanish. He says how this story is his story. And how he prayed and how he wanted the real truth. A day later after him praying, the lady invited him to meet with us.
We kept going. He told us how strongly he could feel the spirit and how because of his Faith he knew that God sent us. Well I ask him if he will read the Book Of Mormon. He says Of Course. And How if he had of said no he would be rejecting God since he knew that God sent us.
This dude is a stud. Honestly one of those guys who you look at and Say yupppp, hes gonna be the next bishop. It was honestly the coolest lesson on my mission.
Ok well later that day we had service. We had signed up to serve in the New Orleans Festival. Aparently like the largest free festival in the US. Well what we did was filled out surveys for them so that they could know what kind of people were visiting. It was quite cool. Also I saw The Weeknd walking down the street no joke. All black clothing big gold watch and his hair so swanky. It was tight. While we were helping they gave us food and trust me there was some good food there. I had an oyster PoBoy! Im in love with the food here.
Also, got a sick pic in Downtown. The camera glitched mid photo and soo the purple you see is truly a #NoFilter
