So this week was pretty nuts. I think I counted a total of 7 breakdowns this week. And to top it all off this morning on the way to the library I broke the back axle and the bearings just rolled out of the wheel. Good times. Thank Goodness there are only ten weeks to borrow a bike otherwise that would've just cost me alot of money!
Story time. Ok so this week was crazy. One day we were with some other elders and this lady stopped us in the street. Upper Aged Black Woman in all workout clothes, as if she had just returned from a run. Well she stops us " Hey are you guys missionaries?" We said "We sure are" which somehow gave her a strong desire to pray with us. Down here it is not very uncommon at all for people to pray in circles with everyone holding hands. Honestly, it's something I'm gonna have to adopt. It's sick. Well she stops us and starts praying! The night before my companion had been telling me about a story of a missionary who kept saying hallelujah while another person was praying on the street with him. Well we are sitting there all holding hands while this lady is praying. My companion decides he wants to recreate this story. I hear a loud "HALLELUJAH". I about lost it. I bit my lip so hard to stop the laughing. Well another elder decides he wants to join in haha and says "AMEN AMEN". I was done at this point. Well things continue to escalate to the point this lady begins speaking in tongues. Holy Wow that was nuts. She starts going off and I had no idea what to do at this point. The 3 other elders just kept going so I joined in. I started shouting out some weird random sounds that sounded like I was speaking Russian or something. Anyway, the weirdest experience ever. This lady was crying at the end and we were all super confused. Then she told us we had a lot of light coming from us! It was pretty crazy!!
Well not a huge amount of stuff this week. Tyrell and Letice have been in New York the past few days because family passed away so that was a little slow with them this week.
Yesterday I got to see a Less-Active that lives in this area. He cooked us some good carne asada. So that was pretty cool to see him!
At church on Sunday it was pretty sweet. This young girl got up that is like 12 years old. Well she starts sharing her testimony and about how she has been struggling a little bit with the church and how everyone keeps asking if she wants to serve a mission. She talked about how she knows a mission will help her gain a testimony. Then she looks down at me and said something like "If the missionaries always are smiling and make everyone else smile and happy, then that is something I want to do, Like Blake Griffin for example. He is always happy and joking around!" It was pretty sweet!!
Oh so there is this place in Algiers that has this sketchy building and always some crazy people pop out of the building. I had to snag a pic in front!
Other than that things are good and the work is going!!!! Love yall!!!
