Never thought it would happen but this week I drop under 6. Thanks to Cally apparently that's like 180 days or something! Its getting real. Elder Casillas has only 6 weeks left and he is scared! I remember being in Opelousas with him over a year ago and barely hitting 4 months or something. It's crazy looking back and seeing the time fly.
This week was a crazy one. It feels like each week just gets a little crazier, outdoing the previous. It's been a good one though.
On sunday during fast and testimony meeting last week this guy got up and told us to find him a truck to help him move houses!! So Tuesday rolls around, we had found a truck and we started the move.
Well we show up and I swear this guy's house had just gone through like world war II or something. Stuff was everywhere. it was a scary situation. mold everywhere, food everywhere, dirt and nasty junk everywhere.. It smelled horrible and I was pretty sure we had found where Ebola had really begun. That house was gross.
Well, mid-move, this old man just started staring at me. I was a little uncomfortable because his eyes were facing different directions. He stats unscrewing the pipes on the back of the washing machine. He grabs the warm water pipe and his eyes start popping open real wide like it was super hot. He started screaming really loud and stuck his tongue out and started swinging it back and forth. Maybe the scariest moment of my life. I felt violated. My comp and I lost it. Then he doesnt let go of the pipe but keeps going. He then finishes and looks at us and says "I can do one thing you can't" He reaches up to his eye and pulls it out. It's a freaking glass eye. He then proceeds to stick out his tongue and start screaming like a crazy man. That might've been the weirdest thing I have ever seen haha.
Well, it didn't stop there. After the move, the man needed his truck back and so we took it back to him. We had forgotten about the trailer and so that also needed to be returned. The problem was that we had no tail hitch to take the trailer and so we walked a trailer a mile and a bit donw the road. It was a pretty funny experience.
A few nights ago we went and met with Freddy and his friend was there. Over here in Louisiana it's a struggle getting in contact with people sometimes because you'll have like 4 hispanics all living in one house. And they always switch around where they are going. One day they will all be there and the next day half of them are gone. It is hard to be consistent on teaching when they are inconsistent even with their living conditions. So we show up and his friend is there. We start teaching them and we are about 3/4 through the lesson when my companion whips this picture out of his pocket. He was feeling his oats. It is a picture of Jesus in the red robes. He explains who it is and then turns around the picture. He explains how Jesus was baptized. He then commits them both to be baptized. It was pretty sweet! Right before he did it I had a feeling to commit them to be baptized and I kinda shrugged it and then that happened. It was sick!
Church was definitely better this week. We had 34. Hahah we more than tripled our numbers so that was definitely better to see! We are praying the branch starts to grow and things start to workout because right now it's getting a little scary.
This morning Elder Nelson took us to The Gator Farm again. He always gives some hilarious advice while driving. Well today he turned on the left lane of a highway with a giant island in the middle. We told him he was on the wrong side and he didnt believe us. He finally went over. Then he started trying to text while driving and so I grabbed the steering wheel very fast. Hahha It was a funny morning! Well 6 Months to Sexy starts this week and you best bet this guy is about to go hard!
Love yall!
