So this week has been awesome. We are really starting to see miracles in this area. Our numbers are increasing and we are continuing to find more people. I'm really looking forward to these next few weeks.
We had to push the baptism back for Eddy because we felt we had to go over a few more things real fast. He is excited to be baptized and I'm so pumped for him to enter the waters.
The sisters will be having a baptism this next week and ours will be the following week. Those are the first two baptisms since the beginning of may for the Spanish missionaries here. I'm excited to be part of the work continuing to move. It's exciting!!
So this week I came across a way cool quote. And it says a lot.
It says:
“Greatness is best measured by how well an individual responds to the happenings in life that appear totally unfair, unreasonable, and undeserved. Sometimes we are inclined to put up with a situation rather than endure. To endure is to bear up under, to stand firm against, to suffer without yielding, to continue to be, or to exhibit the state or power of lasting.”
I love that quote. Throughout my whole mission I have gone around seeing and meeting some of the coolest people. I saw trials and challenges in their life that I think I would be unable to deal with, yet they were great people and kept smiling. Tough situations they couldn't control, random events they couldn't take charge in, yet they still were the happiest people. I just like that quote a lot because we all are put through tough situations every once in a while but its all about how you respond to the situation and that's gonna determine who you become.
I love Louisiana because of that reason I think. There are so many people in less than ideal situations. Dealing with less than ideal circumstances, but they are still some of the most loving. That's definitely something I wanna learn from them.
This past week we had interviews and man, that was easily the best interview I have had. I feel like President is becoming better every day. Just being able to feel the love he has for us is pretty cool!
We kinda talked about goals and things for the rest of the mission. It was kind of a weird interview too because he kept talking about how I was going home soon and all these things. I guess it really hit me in that moment haha. But yeah it was really good.
On friday we went to Eddy's and taught him and then helped a little bit in his yard. One thing that is way funny with hispanics is that they'll ask you to do something, so you start doing it. Then they will decide that they don't like how your doing it, they'll step in your place and start doing it the exact same way, do like 3/4 of the work and then let you finish.. Maybe it's not all of them but that is just what I have noticed. It's pretty funny. Sometimes I have to try so hard not to laugh.
So on friday I had another one of those moments with spanish. I was there talking to this guy and then I finished talking. He started saying a few things and i replied. It was way cool. I look at my comp and he was like "Ok what just happened..." I was confused and so i told him and he told me that he didnt understand one bit of it... It was just like 'Wow, I am speaking spanish'.
I can only imagine the shock people have when they see a tall redheaded guy speaking spanish to them. It's probably way funny on their end.
I love the mission and all it has taught me!! I can't believe there are less than 9 months left. I'm gonna make the most of it!! Thanks for all yall do!! Love you guys!
