So some of you have probably been wondering why you haven't been getting any emails from me. So sorry about that, I should've let everyone known sooner.
So the past two weeks I have actually been home in San Jose California.
I had the opportunity to go home and get some medical treatment and no I am back here in the field. It's been my first week back again and Honestly, it was a little rough a transition.
I got to spend time with many family members and the best part was that it was also thanksgiving so there were many great friends that I was able to see who were back in town from college for a few days.
So its been a crazy few weeks.
Flying home was pretty weird. I get off the plane and there is my mum just hiding behind a pylon waiting with her camera to record me. Man It was good to see her. Then dad shows up and I get to get my bags. It was great seeing family again. Thanksgiving together was great and there were some awesome things about being home! Definitely great to see people up close and personal again rather than just email :) Love you guys!
Well... This week back has been pretty crazy. Although it was weird flying home, it was even weirder flying back and getting off the plane in Baton Rouge. The same airport that I flew into just under 18 months ago. President Hansen was there with a big smile on his face, eyebrows raised as always and just says "Elllddder Whitmarsh, Welcome Back!"
Well we get my bags and he drives me to Morgan City. Of Course, I fell asleep on the drive haha!
It was a little weird adjusting back but I have a pretty strong drive to get out and get it right now. We found a bunch of cool people this week and I think I had one of the coolest lessons ever like the third day I got back. We knock on our first door and they tell us to come right in. 4 Hispanics, Two young couples. Well we get to know them a little, throw a few jokes around and get to the point. We begin talking about the Restoration and it was sweet. I guess somehow my spanish improved since I was gone.. The spirit was definitely helping me out in what was honestly one of the coolest lessons. Elder Shaddick was feeling his oats and his spanish was Strate fire during the lesson. We committed them all to baptism(Soft Commitment) But they were all very excited to learn more. That was probably the coolest thing this week.
Ok soo We were driving home the other day and saw like a 5 or 6 ft alligator roadkill on the side of the road! So we did what we had to and pulled over and grabbed some good pics. That thing was nasty!!
Well that's it for me! Love you guys and hope you have a great week this Christmas season.
