I'm going to start off with two highlights of the week!
So wednesday night was english class. We get there and we are waiting and all of a sudden, 8 people walk right through those doors! I was sooo pumped! Never before had I seen so many people at an english class. The best part was that they were all close friends and could continue to encourage each other to go to this class. Things are good and we have a great time. Let me tell you, it is the funniest thing watching hispanics trying to speak english. Now I understand why everyone used to just laugh at me haha. Well we go person by person practicing how to say things. We get to this one guy. No teeth, all gums. He tries to repeat the word Comunicate. He tries "hoomunitake" I was so confused and I just lost it. Everyone in the room was laughing. Everyone else in the class said it almost perfectly and then that came out of his mouth. They gave him an earful for it. It was way funny!
That friday we had our Branch Christmas Party. Not gonna lie my companion is a clown. So we are sitting there at the party and he decides he is gonna try and cause a bit of trouble. He starts pronouncing all the famous place of Louisiana in the WRONG way. And he knew it. He first says New Or-Leeaanns. (Should be pronounuced, Noo Orlins) He keeps going just trying to rattle up this one sister in the ward. He says Thiboeaux, pronouncing the x(Should be Tib-a-doe) He says Mardi Grass instead of Mardi Gra. He says Natchitoches pronounced exaclty like that instead of (Nackadish) It was way funny. Well next thing you know this lady stands up and says, "You want me to beat you up? Because I'm real close to it" He then says "I just want to go to New Orleeaans and see Mardi Grass" She flips out and storms out of the room. Sis Albert, a lady in our ward was dying!! She was cracking up and had to cover her face so the lady wouldnt get upset. She then storms back in an says "Now I have to take more anxiety pills" I couldnt control myself.
The christmas party was awesome. Also, I hung up some mistletoe and then bobby(I sent a picture last week) tried to kiss that same sister that just got upset! I was dying! He almost landed it too but she pushed him away real quick!
We did a bunch of finding this week! It seems as though the work down here is crazy, because every person we find disappears real quick!! The oil field isnt too good right now and all the hispanics are bailing up north. So right now We are just trying to keep our heads high and stay positive. This Christmas iniciative definitely helps us to feel that happiness always though as we can help lighten up someones day with a video about Jesus Christ and Christmas.
I'm so grateful to be out here and I am very excited to see what happens these next 5 months. I'm grateful for all yalls support and Love :)
Hope you have a great week!
