So we got the calls last night. I'll be training and District Leader over this area. Elder Simmons is leaving and also 2 more English elders are coming into this area. That means no more salt pepper work for me and Only Spanish. I'm way pumped!
This week has been a way busy one. I feel as though things just clicked this week, it was good to teach with Elder Simmons. Things worked great, and we had some of the coolest lessons, and a lot of great happened.
One of our investigators who we invited to church came to a baptism of a little girl in the ward. She was crying and everything. During a lesson that we had with her throughout the week, everything flowed perfectly and the spirit was definitely leading us. I think the coolest part was we had planned on showing her a Mormon message, and when we got there she had a specific concern and question. We played the Mormon message and the first thing that happened was a man giving his personal experience with the same concern. It was awesome. We had another video planned for her also. After the first was done she was bawling. She looked up and asked another question. Boom. Next video answered it exactly. It was way sweet.
The next day she came to the baptism. She is definitely going to be dunked.
Since, I am now doing only Spanish work, the other elders will be taking care of her. I'm so happy I had this chance to be a part of her teaching. She is a great lady!
This morning we went fishing and caught some bass. Elder Nelson also took us to a Gator farm (Where they breed and grow gators, to turn into wallets and belts - That was their exact words) Haha. It was pretty sweet!
The bass tasted amazing, and man, I never realized how relaxing fishing could be. It was awesome!! We caught two, 1lb little suckers, and I had a way bigger one that was a smart guy and swam around my pole and broke the line... I'll get him next time, though!!
I don't have too much to tell you this week, but something funny that did happen was on the way home with Elder Nelson, the Senior Elder here. Elder Simmons is leaving tomorrow, and Elder Nelson was like, "Well Elder Simmons; since I probably won't get to tell you this before you go home..." He started going off about getting married and how you'll just know she's the one and everything. It was way funny. Elder Simmons recorded it all and then at the end said "Well, Elder Whitmarsh, How do you feel... you have less than 7 left..?" haha It was just funny. Then Elder Nelson just started talking for 20 minutes about how he and his wife met. We were so confused. I love that guy!
I'll keep you updated with transfers and who my new comp is! Love y'all and hope you have a great one!
Elder Whitmarsh.
