So yep you guessed it. Back to the Westbank for round 3. I didn't even think this was an option but here I am.
I am in Algiers on Bikes. We have no cars in the westbank now.
My Companions name is Elder Tuttle. I'm pumped to be with him. He has been out just about 7 months and is like my Size. It's scary walking down a street together haha!! People look at us and are like WHATT. I'm really really excited to be here!
These past few days it's been adjusting back to bikes for me. It's been a while since I've been just straight on bikes. I love it though. It makes me feel like I am doing so much more. Biking to get groceries. Biking EVERYWHERE. My legs are definitely feeling it.
Nothing better than going home at night just exhausted from biking.
On Thursday night we had a coordination meeting. After the meeting Elder Tuttle and I biked home. Well I was racing another elder and i jumped off a curb and my chain got stuck. The bike bounced a few times and headed straight towards a pole. The bar of the bike destroyed me but I survived. I slid off the seat and thank goodness I only hurt my thigh because I am bruised up. Definitely a funny memory. Don't worry, I won the race.
Well Two nights later We were rushing back home for a dinner appointment and we were about 6 miles away. So Elder Tuttle and I were booking it. We went over a jump and I landed. There was two options for me. To go left or right. There was a car on the right and so I braked and started going left. Elder Tuttle was mid air on my left as I went left. He landed and Nailed the back of my bike. He back flipped into the road and got back up super quick. I felt soo bad. It feels like a lot has happened this week!
On the way home from an appointment the other night, some kids started asking for our bikes. Elder Tuttle said "500 and this guy is yours" The kids claimed that they didn't need to pay because they'd just beat us up then take them. We started laughing and kept on riding. They kept on saying worse and worse things to the point me and Elder Tuttle looked at each other and at the same time turned the bikes around. Half of them went running. Well then this kid got even worse and started throwing rocks and ran at Elder Tuttle. He grabbed his bike tire while moving and shredded up his hand. We then both drove off. A little further down the street this guy was like "Please ignore those guys. They make us look bad!" It was crazy.
Since coming back to this branch/ branches, alot has changed. There are a few new families that have moved in, as well as a family recently baptized. They are the best. They live in Algiers point over in the hood and I love them already! Church was funny going back for the third time. The looks on people faces when I walked in. It was Awesome haha I wish I had a camera. Everyone was like "WHAATTTTTT 3 times.... We've never had that" It was awesome catching up with everyone.
This week we had a sweet experience. We got a referral for a family of 7. They just moved into town and the wife is less-active. They all want to be baptized. So we started teaching them. He says he is going to mess me up on the basketball court this week. They are super cool and we are super excited to teach them!!
Love you all and hope you have a great week!!!!
