Thanks a lot for letting me know about that one. Hahaha!
Well, this week was crazy! We had exchanges with the Zone Leaders, Zone Conference and our Branch Halloween Party!
So Zone Conference was pretty good! I learnt a lot there. But man, I feel like the meetings are getting longer and longer. We went from 10 am -4. It was an Hour and A Half drive there and an Hour and a Halfback. So that pretty much took up the whole day. I went with Elder Passey which was pretty cool. Elder Shaddick was a little nervous to leave, but he did super good! But, he definitely was pumped when he got to return back.
So story time. So we are driving down the road. Elder Passey and I when we spot three little grey things chilling on the grass next to us. We slow down real fast in the car and pull to a stop. We look out the window and realized what they were. Three little armadillos. It was sick. This was the first time we had seen them live. Usually, they are all smashed up on the road. Well, first of all... apparently Armadillos have Leprosy. Elder Passey looks at me and says, "Are you thinking what I'm thinking??" I was very confused... haha but I said yes. I said "you first" He gets out of the car and I start recording. I said,"Go kick ittttt!" He starts sprinting full speed at the armadillo and this things takes flight. It starts hopping long ways like a rabbit. It was crazy. He swings and misses by about a foot. We drive a little further up the road to see if there are any more. Nope. Unlucky. We go back to the house for dinner, break. After dinner, we had to drop the other elders to one of their appointments. On the way, we drive by again and sure enough, there they are. 2 Armadillos. I say "Ok my turn!" I get out and I sneak around the back of the suckers. I turn on the flashlight and start sprinting as this thing. I swing and BOOM. I connected. The armadillo does not move one inch... For those of you who don't know... Armadillos hurt when you kick them. I could've sworn I kicked a 20 lb rock covered in Armor. Well, I get to the car and everyone is laughing their heads off. The video didn't record.. So I go back to get a new one. I start sprinting at the armadillo and it starts booking it. I catch up and my foot connects with its side. He flips like 4 times and the stands up, stares at me and starts running my way. I've never run so fast in my life.
Ok there's my funny story of the week to keep you interested. This week was pretty good! We had a lot of success and found some pretty cool people. We came across 3 new Investigators who are all pretty solid.
So We are trying to see a previous investigator and no one answers the door. I told Elder Shaddick that we were going to go over here and see someone else. We crossed the road and went our way. In the middle of the road, this Mexican man drives right by me. He was a small little guy. I don't want to offend anyone here, but he reminded me very quickly of Luigi. I screamed out to him. "Que tal Hermano" (Whats up brother) He replied, "Muy bien muy bien." He pulled over and stopped right next to us. I asked him if he had seen us before and he said yes. He told us he had spoken with the missionaries about 2 years ago and has been to church a few times but lost contact with them when he moved areas. I asked if the missionaries ever came to his house and he said no. I then asked if we could come. He said of course. We followed him to his house and taught him the Restoration. It was a pretty neat experience.
Later in the week was the branch Halloween party. This lady in my branch was trying to get me to dress up like a carrot. Yep I still get them jokes haha.. Well, somehow we came up with the idea of coloring our hair... We looked super dumb. But it was funny!
Church was good on Sunday, although the rain affected the attendance. It was quite low. When translating the speaker started talking about Satan attacking the families and how marriage was between men and women. Well, I was trying to be funny by throwing in the classic Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve...So I said Adan y Eva Esteban alli.. No Adan y Steva. It didn't translate ha ha but the people listening started cracking up and I made the speaker laugh. Woops haha... Had to keep things interesting for them.
Also, Our deaf investigator who was pretty solid dropped us. She left the book of Mormon in a bag on her door and left a little note. "I am done reading and studying your Moron Bible Book" Yes she misspelled it to moron. It was a rough day and my comp definitely was a little down since he had the chance to use sign language with her which was pretty cool!
Well, that's my week for y'all! Love you guys and hope everyone has a great week!
Peace Out,
Whizzymars.
