Ok so a little background info on the header. So there is a member in our ward who is I think 97 years old. He walks around, and is super well functioning for that old of a man. He is the coolest. Bro Francis is THE man.So because he is so old, it is hard for him to get to church, so whenever we have the chance we go and talk to him and share a spiritual message. He is such a cool guy filled with many sweet stories..
Over time, the missionaries have come to figure out what questions bring the best responses from this man, and oh, they vary.
One of them includes "Who Am I going to marry?" His wife doesnt like this one because he always says something sexist. So we have to wait until she's out of the house. Well my answer was 'A Dark Haired girl from California'. Someone write that down haha. Its a prophecy.
So I asked him the next question. "What is in your Back Pocket?"
With a deep raspy voice he says "I've got JC in my back Pocket.'
I said "Oh really, why not your front?" He said. "I've got the devil in my front, So I can keep an Eye on him, but JC in my back 'cause he got my back." Then he just smiled. It was so sweet!
That's my story of the week for yall though. A Dark Haired girl from California. Surrreeee, Sounds good to me haha..
This past week was really an awesome one. Mainly for the sisters in our district. They were able to see one of their investigators be baptized! On friday night I had the opportunity to interview her and hear a little bit of her testimony of the church and of The restoration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. She had such a strong, solid testimony of the gospel and even more so of the restoration of it. It was super cool being apart of both that and the confirmation!
This past week I was committed to read the Book of Mormon in spanish once a month for the rest of my mission. That is a tough goal but I am going to try and do it. I am in 2nd nephi right now. My spanish is improving little by little each day and I was also promised that if I learn 2 or 3 new words a day, I will be completely fluent by the end of next transfer. I wish I was more diligent in my spanish study All the way from the beginning, but I am pretty excited about this. Wish me luck.
Another cool experience that I had this week took place in the tienda in Eunice. We were in there trying to buy some ingredients for dinner(Because Elder Peterson can COOK) and we were waiting in line. The lady started speaking to us in spanish asking about the english class. She told us that all the flyers had been picked up(Over 50 of them) and that people kept asking about the class. We left her with our number. That really pumped Elder Peterson and I up because that means there is a lot more spanish here than we thought. We are definitely going to have to follow some home this week :)
This week has been once again, ALoT of finding.. Knocking On doors is what we do everyday! We are finding a BUNCH of potentials, but we just have to work a little bit longer with all of them :)
Eunice is definitely picking up again. Slowly but Surely.
Love y'all so much !!!!

PS. I found a funny street sign the other day....
