This week is going to be a good one. We have a lot coming on up this next week. I guess you could say some Big Milestones. I hit 20 years and I also hit 9 months until home. In the mission they call that your 'Pregnancy' because of the 9 months.
This Past week was great. Definitely one of the most memorable I have had on the mission. Just a lot of weird, crazy things happened.. I don't even know.
Hopefully I remember them all. OK so the week began as usual with P-Day. Well that night it began. There is a family in the ward who the Lady is a less-active and the Man is a non-member. They have three kids together and are not yet married. So we have been working on both getting them married and getting Reuben baptized. On Monday night we were over there and Reuben was teaching us about when Christ calmed the waters in the bible. Well, somehow it turned into them starting to debate over getting married. We had a member with us and she kind of helped out. Reuben left to get pizza and we kinda just talked to her one on one and we just talked about the importance of marriage, especially since they already have a family. She really opened up and decided it was the right thing to do! It was a cool experience because she has always been on the negative side of the argument and then there was like an instant light going off in her head and she changed. It was way cool.
Tuesday we had district meeting and continued on with our work and tried to see as many as we could! Wednesday we had the food bank and it was super good this week. We have picked up and found many people who are interested in hearing the message just after seeing the service we do.
I would say I have a pretty strong testimony of service since being out here. It's cool seeing peoples lives change starting from just a small act of service. Many missionaries are always hoping a hurricane hits so that we can serve all day every day! You never know down here.
The most memorable day of this week was Saturday. We were called up by a member of the Spanish branch and he asked us if we would be willing to help him out. We showed up with all the missionaries and we had no Idea what to expect. Well, we get there and man. I really thought I was in the Philippines or south America or something. There were trees everywhere. Mainly banana trees. It was a good time. We got on our Fruit Ninja grind with our machetes and went to town. After we had cleared everything, we found a old BBQ pit type thing built with bricks. We cleaned it out and Ezekiel went and bought some carne asada and salchichas and we had a good BBQ.. It was funny because he was telling all the English elders that it was Horse and they all believed him.
This less-active then called the sisters and asked them to help him move. It sounded way sketchy so we went and we were right. He comes out with a HAM radio on his right side and a Semi-Auto Pistol on his Left. It was funny. Then his shirt said "How to pic up Chicks. and Had pictures of chickens on it. Alright, I'm just painting a picture here. Ok he goes in an starts bringing out all this as he calls it "Zombie Protection Equipment" He brings out axes, knives and all this other weird stuff. It was real funny. He then ordered 10 pizzas for ten missionaries and started taking photos of everyone from his smart watch. It was a real weird experience. His Brother then Came out and started talking to us saying he had the Holy Grail and that he was one of the Witnesses for the Independence, Missouri temple and that he had the designs for them. It was real crazy and it was definitely something I won't forget. Haha that's al the good stories I guess.
Later in the week we were stopped by Prophet Yeremiah. He was some expert in Hebrew and he started going hard on the bible bashing. He claimed to have exact times and dates on every event in the history of the bible. I read him a few scriptures and my companions and I testified of what we had to share. Instantly his mouth closed and he was lost for words. Everything he begin to say started lacking in truth to the point even he was confusing himself. Hopefully his heart was softened. We are going to meet with him later this week!
